Objective 1: Explore the relationship and impact of information technology in the business arena
Indicators:
Define appropriate business information technology terminology including appropriate use policies, networks, database, digital media, server, modem, wireless, protocol, bandwidth, blog, podcast, wiki, mp3, animation, etc.
Demonstrate the use of a digital camera and/or other digital recording device.
Use a digital camera, digital recorder, a mic on the computer, a cell, etc. to record a photo, sound, or video that can be later used in the "About Me Presentation"
Explore online databases (Switchboard.com, maps.google.com, Pioneer Online Library, Surweb.org, Real Estate, Google Earth, online store, eBay, etc.) After using an online database discuss how all use a database of similar stored items in the database. Switchboard uses a database of stored names, addresses and phone numbers. Google maps uses data to construct maps of everywhere in the USA. Pioneer Online Library is a database of magazine articles. Surweb is a database of photos about Utah. Real estate databases list houses, features, prices, etc. Online stores are a database of items for sale. They list item, description, photo, price, etc. What other database can be found online?
